Like a War Zone
Dear Friend,
Last night was my first "live" experience
of the Chinese New Year celebration - and I
must say I now wish I was staying longer.
It was like a war zone outside.
There I was, resting comfortably on my bed
on the 26th floor of a downtown hotel, when
the fireworks - "fangbian pao" - started to
go off.
This was no big deal, at first, because there
have been fireworks the last couple nights as
well. But these were "real" fireworks. No more
childhood games.
Big, bright and .... "loud." Like bombs going
off all over the place. So much smoke you
thought fog had descended upon the entire
city.
I called family and friends back in the U.S. and
let them listen to the explosions thru my cell
phone. They were amazed and very excited. As
was I.
I couldn't stay put any longer. Had to get outside
and experience first-hand. Put on clothes and took
a hike.
Wow. Totally awesome.
Let me tell you, it's thrilling to be able to celebrate two
New Years and I wish that you can as well - someday, if
you haven't already. It's an incredible experience that
I hope to enjoy again and again.
The start of the Chinese New Year - (tis the year of the
Rooster) - can be a wake up call for all of us to really
get serious about achieving our fondest dreams and
goals.
Whether your goals are about fitness, health or career -
I am here to tell you that you can make them come
true. All it takes is desire, vision and a wilingness to
"go for it" until your mental picture becomes a current
reality.
