Pushups in Reverse
Dear Friend,
One of the best pushups you can do for strength requires
you to reverse your thinking - and your body.
Instead of having your chest facing the floor - you have your
back toward it. In Combat Conditioning I refer to this exercise
as a reverse pushup. It's one of the best strength and flexibility
exercises you can do. In fact, you truly need to develop both
in order to do it at all.
That's what I love about Combat Conditioning. You get to
simultaneously develop strength, flexibility and endurance -
something you can't do lying on a machine pumping weights.
Anyway, in a reverse pushup, you start with your butt and
back on the floor. Your legs are bent so that you can push
off with your feet; and your hands are on the floor beside
your shoulders. From this position you push up as high as
you can.
At first this pushup seems impossible for most people. But
believe me, there are ways to make it much harder.
How could you do that? Well ... try eliminating one hand.
I remember the first time I tried to do it with one hand.
I truly thought, 'there's just no way.' But whenever I
think something is impossible, I remember the line from
Karl Gotch: 'The word impossible doesn't exist in my
dictionary.' One week after trying to do a one-arm reverse
pushup, the goal became a reality.
No matter what you want to achieve as far as fitness goes,
you WILL make progress and move forward when you make up
your mind that you're going to do it, come hell or high water.
And Combat Conditioning shows you the way.
Well, that's all for now.
Kick butt - take names!
P.S. Cut the word 'impossible' out of your dictionary - then make sure
you order your the Combat Conditioning book and videos. It's an
international best-seller for a very good reason. It works. Go here and order now.
