Beheaded Korean No Big Deal - Or Is It?
Dear Friend,
Yesterday's email sure caused a flood of emails
into the office. And let me tell you, the grand
majority were not about my best-selling book,
Combat Conditioning.
Nah. Most were 'thanking' me for taking the stand
I have taken against terrorism - and for sending out the
warning that we as a nation had better freakin wake up.
Had a few from the 'other side of the pasture' - and I'll
tell you about one - but first, let me just say:
As a nation, far too many of us are 'soft.' And by soft
I am not only referring to our bulging bellies. By soft I mean
that we are physically AND mentally weak. This is not good -
and not just from a health standpoint.
It's not good from a 'survival' standpoint.
The best thing you can do for yourself, starting today, is get
your arse in shape. Doing so not only changes you physically
- but mentally and emotionally as well.
People often wonder where I get my drive and my ambition.
Truth is I get it from having the will to follow through with a
daily fitness regimen - and the imagination
to see the world as an ever-evolving and better place.
I have great expectations for this world and I foresee the best of
times - and I want to do my part to contribute to the good. And
sometimes 'my part' includes telling people to protect themselves.
Yes, I believe in having a positive disposition. I also believe you can best
maintain a positive disposiiton by looking over your shoulder to scout the
territory - and by assessing the danger that lies ahead.
Yesterday a South Korean man got his head chopped off. Instead of
outrage - many people have the 'no big deal - we saw that already'
attitude. Do you really think that an attitude of denial will put an end to
the conflict? Wake up everyone.
Yesterday, one guy wrote the following:
Dear Matt,
This is the first time i have e-mailed your
kind self, and i wish to thank you for your great
e-mails that you have sent me so far. Your training
programme is fantastic but your lastest e-mail really
smacks of pure marketing.
I know from previous e-mails that u dont give a rats
ass of what others think of you, and thats an attitute
i really admire. The problem is i really feel that you
are attempting to cash in on the fear of terrorism and
attempting to say that hand 2 hand skills can and will
defeat determined armed terrorists.
These guys are fanatics, and regardless of
training most individuals in your country and mine
would not defeat a determined terrorist armed with a
basic hand to hand weapon. Pretending that one can is
folly in my opinion and i strongly believe that to
suggest otherwise is merely a marketing ploy. I doubt
that you'll print this letter as our politics and thinking differ
but i do respect your attitude none the less.
Yours faithfully
Dave Allan
M.F.: Dave, one question: What weapons were the flight
attendants using against the 'shoe' bomber? None. Not
only that, but the heroes who brought down one of the
planes may not have survived themselves, but they pre-
vented thousands of other deaths. To think that our planes
were taken over by people with box-cutter knives is pretty
sad. There are plenty of skilled hand-to-hand people in this
country who could have taken their weapons away and snuffed
them in no time flat.
As for your comment that I am simply trying to cash in on
terrorism - you obviously don't know me very well. I only
market that which I believe in. If I wanted to make some REAL
money I'd gain 300 pounds and put together a schlockumentary
a la Michael Moooh-ore. Tell me, who has capitalized on this situation
more than that pig, er - cow?
Mooooh-ore may be the size of your average Heifer or Holstein -
but let me tell you, I wouldn't want him in my corner when the
fighting starts.
Kick butt - take names!
P.S. If you missed yesterday's email on what you can do to prepare yourself - go here.
